New Fashion Resale Store in Cumming, Georgia to Celebrate Grand Opening

Local business owners announce grand opening of their new fashion resale store, Uptown Cheapskate, on March 6 in Cumming, Georgia.

Cumming, GA (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 - Local business owners Margie and Andy Gelernter are excited to announce the grand opening of their new resale store, Uptown Cheapskate, on Friday, March 6 at 10:00 am. Unlike a traditional thrift store, this trendy teen and young adult fashion reseller, located at 511 Lakeland Plaza in Cumming, pays shoppers cash for their second hand clothes, shoes and other apparel items and resells them at highly discounted prices.

The grand opening weekend begins Thursday, March 5 at 4 pm for the VIP night, an exclusive preview held for customers who have sold to Uptown Cheapskate before the grand opening. VIP customers will be able to get first pick for trendy second hand clothing. On Friday and Saturday, the first 50 shoppers will receive mystery gift cards worth up to $50. Local businesses will also join in on the grand opening celebration by giving away special offers.

The new Uptown Cheapskate store in Cumming is located next door to the Gelernter’s other resale franchise, Kid to Kid. A sister concept to Uptown Cheapskate, Kid to Kid buys and resells children's clothing, toys, books and baby gear. The Gelernters also own a second Uptown Cheapskate in Johns Creek and a second Kid to Kid in Duluth.

"Having both of our stores next to each other will make it convenient for our customers by providing a one-stop shop," said Margie. "Parents can shop for their young children at Kid to Kid and then go next door to shop at Uptown Cheapskate for their teens, or for themselves!"

For several weeks, the store has been open to the public to purchase customers’ gently used fashions, filling the racks in preparation for the grand opening. Customers will then be able to come in and shop brand name and designer clothing and accessories at up to 70 percent less than retail.

Uptown Cheapskate focuses on buying current styles of apparel, shoes and accessories that appeal to a wide range of teens and young adults. After the grand opening, Uptown Cheapskate will continue to pay customers cash or in-store credit for their gently used items.

In addition to carrying hundreds of recycled items, the new Uptown Cheapskate store will also offer many new products including jewelry, shoes and assorted clothing items.

"The positive reception our Kid to Kid shoppers have shown for our new Uptown Cheapskate store has been very exciting," said Margie. "We are so happy to bring the concept of Uptown Cheapskate to the Cumming, Georgia area and help those in our community be fashionable on a budget."
