Entrepreneur Purchases Virginia Franchise

ARLINGTON, Va. - March 6, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Scott Waterman in Loudon County acquired an American Leak Detection (ALD) franchise in northern Virginia. Like all ALD franchisees, Waterman will offer his customers leak detection without destruction. Waterman grew up near San Francisco and found his way to the East Coast in 2005.

"I knew I wanted to expand my business," said Waterman, who spent decades in the plumbing business. "I saw American Leak Detection as a great way to do just that, while also saving people money and saving water."

Waterman completed six weeks of intensive training away from his wife and sons to become a certified "Original Leak Specialist." He and his team of five provide a variety of leak detection services including pool and slab leak detection, electromagnetic pipeline location and infrared leak detection.

Waterman uses a variety of exclusive equipment and utilizes cutting-edge technology to find leaks without causing damage to a customer's property. The ultrasonic listening devices are Waterman's favorites.

"I love working with customers," said Waterman. "I have always been a problem solver – and now I have a new set of tools."

"We are pleased to welcome Scott Waterman to our family of franchisees," says Patrick DeSouza, President and CEO of ALD. "Scott is committed to finding solutions. Finding leaks isn't just a job, but a career that many people are enthusiastic about. Our franchisees save customers money, minimize property damage, and help conserve our most precious resource – water."

Waterman now covers an area serving about 2.5 million people in metro DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Mount Vernon and more. This month, he took a short break from his new venture to travel to Israel to work with a group he trained on leak detection methods.
