Jack In The Box® Raises More Than $100,000 For Make-A-Wish® Arizona

Funds Raised From Sales Of $1 Wish Stars Will Grant Wishes for 13 Kids With Life-Threatening Illnesses

April 08, 2015 // Franchising.com // SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Jack in the Box® restaurants in Arizona raised $101,743 in March for Make-A-Wish® Arizona. The monies were raised by selling $1 Wish Stars at more than 160 restaurants in the state, primarily in the Phoenix and Tucson communities. With the help of the local community, Jack in the Box exceeded its fundraising goal, raising enough funds to help Make-A-Wish® Arizona grant wishes for 13 kids with life-threatening medical conditions.

Wishes, which cost approximately $7,500 each, have already been granted for six kids, which was Jack in the Box’s initial goal. Thanks to the community, the participating restaurants have doubled their regional goal, which will allow Make-A-Wish Arizona to grant wishes for an additional seven Arizona wish kids. Of the wishes recently granted, 3-year-old Vanna, who is courageously fighting cancer, was able to visit Walt Disney World, while 10-year-old Ella, who has a life-threatening heart condition, was able to live out her dream of being a Phoenix Suns dancer.

“We were so inspired by our guests’ enthusiasm to donate to such an awesome cause,” said Jaime Ogus, Jack in the Box Regional Marketing Manager. “It just goes to show how even a $1 donation can bring hope to those who need it.”

“Make-A-Wish Arizona is honored to have this partnership with Jack in the Box and excited to see the passion that the restaurant leadership, staff and customers have for our wish kids,” said Elizabeth Reich, Make-A-Wish Arizona President and CEO. “We grant wishes thanks to the generosity of our community, and this was amazingly generous.”

Jack in the Box will celebrate with some of the wish kids they adopted on Wednesday, April 8, at 3:30 p.m., at the Jack in the Box restaurant located at 20209 North 59th Avenue in Glendale.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, who donated an additional $5,000 in support of Jack in the Box's fundraising efforts, will present a check to Make-A-Wish® Arizona on the field at the Diamondbacks game on Saturday, April 25.
