Sunbelt® Business Brokers’ Founder Receives International Business Broker Association’s Lifetime Certified Business Intermediary Award

Independence, OH - April 12, 2015 - (PR.com) - Sunbelt®, the place to go to buy or sell a business, is proud to congratulate its founder, Ed Pendarvis, on his prestigious Lifetime Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) award presented by the International Business Brokers Association® (IBBA). Pendarvis founded Sunbelt Business Brokers in 1978 and remains actively involved as Chairman Emeritus of the Sunbelt Network.

Pendarvis stated, “I have always believed that owning your own business is the American Dream, yet having a dream simply isn’t enough to make it a successful reality. My long career with Sunbelt has been built around educating and empowering entrepreneurs to make informed business decisions. I’m delighted and honored that my contributions are being honored with this award presented by the IBBA.”

Pendarvis is a widely respected industry expert who has been successfully guiding buyers and sellers of “Main Street” businesses for over 35 years. He founded Sunbelt Business Brokers in Charleston, SC in 1978 and transformed the venture into the largest business brokerage franchise network in the world. Pendarvis has devoted much of his career to educating business brokers in valuing and selling businesses. He is the Founder and President of Business Buyers University and the author of several educational books that detail the steps involved in negotiating, buying and selling a business. He has also committed his professional skills to serving on the Board of Directors for both the South Carolina Better Business Bureau and the IBBA, in addition to the Advisory Board for the Citadel School of Business Administration. He has also made significant community contributions through his service to the American Legion’s Palmetto Boys State Program and the Board of the Juvenile Correction Institution. Pendarvis and his family are lifelong residents of Charleston, SC.
