Mellow Mushroom Acworth to Host Fundraising Event for FedEx Shooting Victim Christopher Sparkman on Sunday, April 19

Mellow Mushroom will donate 10% of sales, server’s tips and proceeds from a silent auction to assist Christopher in his road to recovery.

Acworth, Georgia (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 - Mellow Mushroom Acworth will be hosting a dine out fundraising event Sunday, April 19, benefitting the FedEx Facility security guard shooting victim, Christopher Sparkman.

During the daylong event, 10% of sales, along with the server’s tips and 100% of profits from a select group of beers will be donated to Christopher Sparkman in order to assist him on his road to recovery. A silent auction will also be held in his honor as well with the proceeds to be added to his benefit.

Owners Todd and Felicia Rakestraw are hopeful that they can raise a large amount of funds for this local here. “Christopher grew up in the Acworth area, attending North Cobb High School, and he later served in the U.S. Army,” states Felicia. She continues, “Christopher saved several lives that day; he is a part of our community, and we are humbled to host this fundraiser in his honor.”

Christopher Sparkman was shot point blank in the abdomen last April while on guard at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw. Since then, he's been in and out of the hospital for more than two dozen surgeries.
