Margaritas Mexican Restaurant to Bring Festive New Dining Experience to New Jersey

Popular Mexican Eatery Inks Deal for Five New Restaurants throughout State

May 26, 2015 // Franchising.com // Portsmouth, N.H. – Tío Juan’s Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, a popular New England restaurant concept known for its fresh Mexican cuisine and vibrant decor, will soon open its doors to New Jersey residents through a franchise deal set to bring a total of five new restaurants to the state.

The new restaurants will be owned and operated by local group Garden State Dining, an experienced group of franchise operators who also own Burger King and 7-Eleven franchises. The group will open five restaurants over the next six years, and is currently targeting northern and central New Jersey for development.

“We felt that New Jersey was a relatively untapped market for casual Mexican dining concepts,” said franchisee Hemang Patel, who owns Garden State Dining with friend Samik Patel. “Margaritas will fill the void by not only offering Mexican-inspired menu items, but also an ambiance that creates the feeling of having a meal in Mexico itself – a combination that we are confident will make Margaritas a success throughout the state.”

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant currently has 26 locations throughout New England and Pennsylvania. The restaurant is known for its fresh made food, family-friendly atmosphere and delicious margaritas made-to-order using a variety of flavors, including Lime in the Coconut, Pomegranate, Naked Jalapeno, Russlerita and their award-winning “Original Margarita.” Margaritas’ owner John Pelletier frequently travels to artist communities and manufacturing towns in Mexico to fill the restaurants with hand-selected crafts, tiles, pottery and carved furniture meant to evoke the excitement of the Mexican culture.

As part of its commitment to the communities it serves, Margaritas has contributed more than $1M to local organizations through their Full Moon Margaritas Madness and Noche Mexicana Fundraiser programs throughout the past 25 years.

“We want our guests to celebrate special milestones with us, such as birthdays and anniversaries, and to join us for our own events like Cinco de Mayo or simply to stop in for a relaxing night out,” said Margaritas President Hugo Marin. “We want to be the place folks choose to celebrate the joy of every day.”
