Family-owned Rettig Brothers Furniture to debut expanded, remodeled Art Van Findlay store in July.

WARREN, Mich. - June 8, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Two iconic family-owned furniture retailers are coming together! Art Van Furniture, the Midwest's No. 1 furniture and mattress retailer, has signed a franchising agreement with Rettig Brothers Furniture which will become its first franchise store in the state of Ohio. Rettig Brothers Furniture (10300 U.S. 224 W. in Findlay), owned by Tony Rettig, will be renamed Art Van Findlay after completing extensive remodeling and expansion in July 2015.

"Rettig Brothers Furniture has been a prominent furniture retailer in Northwest Ohio for 34 years," said Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture. "Tony Rettig shares Art Van Furniture's strong commitment to customer service and quality home furnishings at affordable prices, and we are thrilled to welcome Rettig Brothers Furniture to our retail family."

Rettig Brothers Furniture opened in 1981 in a 3,000 square foot storefront on Main Street in Findlay. The company, founded by Ed, Kevin and Tony Rettig, grew steadily over the years, moving several times to larger showrooms to accommodate its expanding product lines. In 2001, Rettig Brothers Furniture completed the first phase of a new 40,000 square foot facility and in 2003, the second phase of the expansion added another 20,000 square feet featuring in-store galleries with such well-known brands as Riverside, Liberty, England and Lane.

"Our new partnership with Art Van Furniture will allow us to add even more name brand furniture lines to the impressive products our guests already enjoy," said Tony Rettig, owner and president. "To be affiliated with one of the country's most successful family-owned furniture retailers and to benefit from Art Van Furniture's buying power is a dream come true." The new store will carry Lazy-Boy, Natuzzi Leather and Flexsteel, house Art Van PureSleep and Art Van Clearance Center, and feature an Amish Originals Gallery with the timeless treasures of Ohio's Amish-made solid wood furniture.

In 2013, Rettig Brothers Furniture was named Findlay/Hancock County Small Business of the Year. With the addition of the Art Van Findlay franchise, scheduled to debut in July 2015, Art Van Furniture will have nine franchise locations in the Midwest as well as one Art Van Pure Sleep franchise in Michigan.
