Local Resident Opens FirstLight HomeCare to Serve New Haven Area

New business to provide in-home care and support services for local community.

June 09, 2015 // Franchising.com // Branford, Conn. - FirstLight HomeCare, provider of quality, affordable, non-medical in-home care for adults, is now open to serve greater New Haven residents. FirstLight Home Care of Shoreline East is owned by area resident Patrick Risko.

FirstLight HomeCare of Shoreline East offers complete companion and personal care services for seniors, new mothers, those recovering from surgery and others in need of assistance. Services include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, driving to doctors’ appointments, personal care and any other services that help the people we serve stay comfortable in their own homes.

FirstLight HomeCare of Shoreline East will serve residents throughout the greater New Haven area including Wallingford and North Branford.

As his parents aged, he realized they would need help and began to research the options available.

“I soon realized that senior care was a common challenge that many families faced,” Risko said. “As part of researching the best way to help, I realized that I wanted to be part of the solution not just for my parents but for New Haven families faced with similar challenges.”

After nearly two decades working in the banking industry, he left to pursue the passion of helping other seniors and their families. His research led him to collaborate with FirstLight Homecare, which has more than 130 locations in 30 states.
