Mr. Handyman Looks to Expand Presence in California

National Home Repair and Maintenance Company Seeks Franchisees to Meet Local Demand for Services

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - June 09, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - To fulfill demand for both commercial and residential services, Mr. Handyman, the national home repair and maintenance company, announces it is currently seeking franchisees to open up to 20 locations throughout California over the next three years.

“Every month, we receive thousands of online searches from California consumers for our services,” said Mr. Handyman President J.B. Sassano. “With that kind of potential customer base, a small current brand footprint and great local reputation and value, Mr. Handyman is a lucrative option for potential franchisees."

In California, Mr. Handyman currently has eight owners servicing 16 locations which include Beverly Hills, Hollywood, the Valley, and West Los Angeles. A deal has recently been finalized to open two locations in the San Diego area as well.

Aiming to build off the state’s development momentum – and capitalize on interest from would-be customers – Mr. Handyman is targeting Ventura, Rancho Palos Verdes, Long Beach, Laguna Hills, Pasadena and Mission Veijo for expansion and is currently seeking qualified franchise partners for development.

For entrepreneurs interested in owning a handyman service franchise, the industry has a positive outlook. Mr. Handyman saw system-wide consumer sales increase 18 percent last year. Overall, handyman service is a $1.3 billion industry and is poised for renewed growth as a result of increased disposable income and an increase in existing home sales and housing prices, according to research firm IBISWorld.

Mr. Handyman has received numerous awards for entrepreneurship and humanitarian support. The investment to open a Mr. Handyman franchise is $102,000 to $129,100. Mr. Handyman is a member of the Service Brands International family of home-services franchises that also includes Molly Maid and ProTect Painters.
