Franchise Veteran Peter Holt Set to Embark on New Path After Sale of Tasti D-lite and Planet Smoothie

June 16, 2015 // Franchising.com // Brentwood, Tenn. - Peter Holt, the former CEO of Tasti D-Lite and Planet Smoothie has moved on since the purchase of the two franchise systems by Kahala Brands™ which was announced on June 2nd.

Holt, who began with Tasti D-Lite in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2013, has stepped down from his position as CEO and will also resign from the International Franchise Association’s Board of Directors this month.

During his tenure he oversaw the conversion of Tasti D-Lite from a licensed business to a business format franchise model. He also led the purchase of Planet Smoothie in 2011 and its integration into the Tasti D-Lite business.

Holt strongly believes in the synergies and opportunities that the new ownership will bring to the business. “Kahala brings over 25 years of substantial experience in franchising to the organization as owners and managers of 14 quick service restaurant brands including Cold Stone Creamery®, Blimpie® and Taco Time®,” said Holt. “I believe this is the best move for everyone involved and will help all franchisees gain momentum.”

Holt has written and lectured extensively on the subject of franchising and is currently involved in several outside projects for leading franchisors on a consulting basis.

During his term serving on the Board of Directors of the IFA he served as Chairman of the International Affairs Network (IAN) from 1998-2007 and Chairman of the Global Marketing Group (GLOMACK) during the same period.
