Fit For Fame: Retro Fitness Launches 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands
One of the Nation’s Leading Low-Cost, High-Value Fitness Franchises Holds Competition to Find the Best Long Island Band
COLTS NECK, N.J. - July 06, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Long Island Retro Fitness clubs are giving aspiring rock stars a chance to play at the Nikon Jones Beach Theater this summer, opening for a Grammy award winning American rock band.
Through July 15, local Long Island bands are encouraged to enter the “Fit For Fame” contest by submitting a video to the Fit For Fame Facebook App. Bands have full creative freedom for their video, to showcase their rock star potential. After submitting, contestants can share the video on their social media sites to electrify their fans before voting starts on July 20. By the end of July, the band that receives the most votes on the app will get to perform in front of a live audience on the Jones Beach Nikon Theater Side Stage at an August concert.
“Music is an important and exciting part of our society that brings us together, but it can be hard for local musicians to get their name out there,” said Eric Casaburi, CEO and founder of Retro Fitness. “As a franchise organization with gyms that promote local community engagement, Retro Fitness is proud to support local talent, and to be able to give them an outlet to showcase their talents and gain a greater following in their local communities.”
Submissions are open to all bands throughout the tri-state area. Band members must be 18 or older, or must apply for parent consent. The winner will be announced August 5. If there is a tie, Retro Fitness will decide which band will best represent them on the branded stage.
