The Learning Experience® Adds Two Renowned Franchising Business LeadersTo Its Board Of Directors

National Academy of Early education bolsters position to remain one of the NATION’s fasTest gRowing schools with added expertise.

July 07, 2015 // Franchising.com // Boca Raton, FL – The Learning Experience® (TLE®), one of the nation’s fastest growing academies of early education for children six weeks to five years old, announced today the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: recognized franchise business leaders Burton D. Cohen and Catherine Monson.

Burton D. Cohen is Managing Partner of Burton D. Cohen & Associates, LLC, a franchising consulting firm that he founded following his retirement as Senior Vice President and Chief Franchising Officer of McDonald's Corporation. In that position, he was responsible for overseeing McDonald's franchising activities worldwide. Throughout his 35-year tenure with McDonald's Corporation, Cohen held numerous positions, including, Assistant General Counsel and Director of the corporate legal department, Advisory member of the McDonald's Board of Directors, and Trustee of the McDonald's Profit Sharing Trust. As a franchising authority, he has lectured widely to various organizations including the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Practicing Law Institute, and the International Franchise Association?(IFA). Additionally, Cohen serves as an Adjunct Professor of Strategy at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Catherine Monson is CEO of FASTSIGNS® International Inc. Holding this role since December 2008, Monson brought with her a strong background in franchising and digital printing. In addition to her previous role as President of PIP Printing, she worked within Sir Speedy and MultiCopy Europe, serving in operations, franchise development, sales, training and marketing communications. A graduate of Pepperdine University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Monson currently serves on the board of the IFA and on the National Educational Foundation Board of Trustees for Pi Sigma Epsilon, the national sales and marketing fraternity for college and university students.
