10th Anniversary of Owner Focused Event Reinforces Company’s Expansion Plans in Mexico

July 10, 2015 // Franchising.com // Mexico City – Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) recently hosted its 10th annual Mexico Development Forum at Hilton Mexico City Reforma to share both the company’s success stories and robust plans for future expansion throughout the country. Led by George Massa, vice president and managing director, development, Mexico and Central America, for Hilton Worldwide, the owner focused event gathered more than 300 key decision makers from Mexico’s hotel development community and included presentations by Hilton Worldwide executives highlighting each of the company’s 12 brands and respective pillars, benefits to potential investors, and strength of Hilton Worldwide Management Services.

“We continue to witness great momentum in Mexico’s hospitality industry and we are committed to further expanding our footprint throughout the country with nearly 30 projects currently under development. At this time, roughly half of Hilton Worldwide’s Latin America development pipeline is focused in Mexico, reinforcing this promise,” said Massa. “Mexico offers tremendous potential and Hilton Worldwide delivers an exciting value proposition for owners in this thriving destination.”

During his presentation, Massa reiterated Hilton Worldwide’s interest in Mexico and shared details of the company’s latest openings in the country, such as Hilton San Luis Potosi, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Aguascalientes and Hampton Inn by Hilton Zacatecas, as well as highlights regarding upcoming openings. This year, the company plans to open nearly 10 hotels in Mexico spanning from focused service to upscale full-service, including properties in the States of Yucatán, Nuevo León, Tabasco, Baja California, Guanajuato and Toluca. The executive also shared news of recently signed projects, including Hilton Garden Inn Salamanca, Hampton Inn by Hilton Irapuato, among others in the company’s development pipeline of nearly 30 confirmed projects.

While all Hilton Worldwide brands were introduced, the forum gave special attention to the company’s newest brands: Canopy by Hilton and Curio - A Collection by Hilton, as well as six of the company’s most prevalent brands in Latin America: Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton. The presentations concluded with a detailed overview of Hilton Management Services, its benefits and the regional operations support provided to managed hotels in the region.

Hilton Worldwide currently has a portfolio of more than 30 hotels and resorts open and welcoming travelers to Mexico. The company continues to actively pursue additional growth opportunities throughout the country and boasts a strong pipeline of approximately 30 signed agreements for projects representing more than 3,600 new rooms added to the portfolio.
