Mamoun’s Falafel Restaurant Partners With Fransmart For Expansion

New York’s Most Famous Falafel Restaurant Announces The Launch Of A Franchise Program

August 12, 2015 // Franchising.com // New York, NY - Mamoun’s Falafel Restaurant, founded in 1971 and credited with being one of the first Middle Eastern restaurants in the U.S., has partnered with Fransmart to expand the business into strategically selected new target markets. Mamoun’s serves authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in a traditional environment, and has gained distinction and customer loyalty due in equal parts to its unique ‘hole-in-the-wall’ feel, rich tradition and history, and commitment to excellence. Called a “New York City institution”, Mamoun’s is open late-night (until 5 am) where it serves a diverse group of clientele, including many famous celebrities.

Fransmart is the franchise development company behind the explosive growth of brands like Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill, and will serve as the brand’s exclusive franchise development partner.

Mamoun’s Falafel Restaurant currently has six locations open in NY, NJ and CT, with the original restaurant – one of the oldest falafel restaurants in New York – located in Greenwich Village. The brand has been featured on Food Network, on ABC’s The Chew with Mario Batali, and in the book 1000 Places To See Before You Die.

A spokesman for Mamoun’s said, “We had already grown the business ourselves from one unit to six, and felt the time was right to start franchising more aggressively. We intend to keep the traditional family feel in all of our restaurants, and will be targeting major metro areas like Boston, D.C. and Philly”
