Leading Fast Casual Pizza Chain Opens Newest Kansas Location

DALLAS - Aug. 14, 2015 // PRNewswire // - The quest for the perfect pizza dough is not for the faint of heart! Residents of Mission will soon be able to embark on their own journey of building personal pie creations or they can try one of Pie Five Pizza's signature pies, and receive it in less than five minutes. On Friday, August 21, Pie Five will open its sixth Kansas City area location in the new Cornerstone Commons center at 6809 Johnson Drive.

Opening day celebrations will be nothing short of a full on party. Pie Five will be presenting a check to Children's Mercy Hospitals on opening day from proceeds from pre-opening events. Over $60,000 has been raised for the Children's Mercy Hospitals to date by the Goebel family and their Children's Mercy Monday program.

The pizza party will continue on Saturday, August 22 from 11am to 10pm. Mission Chamber members will be in attendance and Mix 93 will be live at the store giving away $20 Pie Five gift cards, swag and two chances to win free pizza for a year! And since pizza and sports go together like mozzarella and marinara, Pie Five will also be hosting the Chiefs Cheerleaders and will be giving away Royals tickets!

Goebel, former president and CEO of Applebee's, along with his wife Jan, sons Kerry and Kevin and daughter Lyssa, signed a 10-unit Pie Five franchise agreement in May of 2013 . They plan to have 8 Kansas City area locations before the end of the year. The Goebels have identified the Kansas City area, Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan and St. Joe as an 18 to 20 restaurant territory.
