College Hunks Hauling Junk Opens New Franchise in Lansing, Michigan
New Operation Marks the Third Michigan Location for the Fast-Growing Removal and Moving Franchise as It Expands Nationwide
TAMPA, FL - (Marketwired - Aug 18, 2015) - College Hunks Hauling Junk has opened its third franchise in Michigan, adding Lansing to successful operations already serving Flint and Detroit.
Owners Clark Burkle and Bill Willbrandt will provide junk removal services in Lansing within a 30-mile radius of the city, with moving services to be added in the fall. And although there are competing providers on the ground, Burkle and Willbrandt say the combination of their business savvy and the eye-catching College Hunks Hauling Junk brand will soon differentiate their services.
"I've had two careers - I've been a funeral home director, and I've worked in automotive IT consulting," Burkle said. "Bill's a Michigan State law school grad with a background in agriculture. Between us, we've covered a lot of career ground and know the importance not just of excellent customer service, but really going above and beyond to create a memorable experience."
"A lot of our owners are people who are just starting out in business, and others bring years of sound business practices to the table," said Nick Friedman, president and co-founder of College Hunks Hauling Junk. "What Lansing is getting with Bill and Clark are two longtime area residents who understand what the locals are looking for in a service provider, and how to exceed every expectation that's set before them. We believe they will be some of our strongest operators in a very short time."
For their part, Burkle and Willbrandt say they are eager to get rolling.
"When Bill and I say we're 'hunks,' people do giggle," Burkle said. "But they like the name, and they want to know more. Yes, we have a truck, just like the competition. Yes, we carry junk and eventually we'll be moving, just like the competition. But they don't have the young, energetic, friendly staff we have. We have a great image, a great truck, and great people."
Those are the keys to success in a college town, where Burkle and Willbrandt can build up a sizeable book of business quickly, Friedman noted.
"Clark and Bill know that students come and go several times a year, which means they, as well as professors and other university staff, need removal and moving services," he said. "But they also plan to go after some other big targets, such as GM and the state government's many offices. Lansing is a very target-rich environment for a College Hunks Hauling Junk franchise, and we're very excited to have them on board."
"There are lots of opportunities for growth," Willbrandt said. "We'll be able to quickly expand on what we do, because we're working with idea people. We have a fresh brand, an enthusiastic group of employees, and an innovative management team behind us."
