Zaniac Significantly Expands Northeast Presence

After-School STEM Enrichment Franchise Debuts Campuses in New York and Massachusetts, Adds Second Connecticut Location

SALT LAKE CITY - September 09, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Zaniac, a national STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) franchise where learning feels like play with programs such as Zaniac Robotics: LEGO®, Game-Based Learning: Minecraft™, 3D Printing and Computer Programming, will continue to significantly expand its footprint in the Northeast with an October opening in Massachusetts. This follows the brand’s debut in New York City last week, and a second Connecticut location that opened last month.

“There is a demand across the country for greater STEM education opportunities and we are working to fill that void,” said Sidharth Oberoi, Zaniac’s President and Chief Academic Officer. “Zaniac Campuses are a fun and rewarding way to provide cutting-edge educational enrichment opportunities for children.”

In Boston, local entrepreneurs and franchisees Katie Comtois and Stephanie Murray will open a Zaniac campus at 358 Cambridge Road in Woburn, Massachusetts, slated for October. The two bring significant experience in education and psychology and hope to open an additional nine Zaniac locations throughout the next five years in the greater Boston area.

“The Boston market is passionate about education, technology and promoting STEM curricula – it’s a no brainer,” said Comtois. “Zaniac complements the traditional education system by encouraging kids to leverage their natural strengths and explore being problem solvers, creative thinkers and approach learning with an open mind. I see Zaniac becoming a household name in the immediate future.”

Zaniac first entered the Northeast in December 2013, when franchisees Camilla Gazal and Flavia Naslausky opened a campus in Greenwich, Connecticut. The two pioneered the Zaniac franchise program and plan to continue expanding through a franchise deal set to bring nine new locations to the region. A new campus opened August 19 in Westport, CT at 1391 Post Road East and Zaniac debuted in Manhattan at 3rd Avenue & East 78th Street September 1.

“Witnessing first-hand the overwhelmingly positive impact Zaniac had on our own children confirmed our decision to bring the opportunity to other children throughout the Northeast,” Gazal added.

Zaniac currently has corporate campuses open in Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah, in addition to additional franchises in Miami, Florida, and Greenwich, Connecticut. The fast-growing franchise plans to reach 50 campuses by 2017.

Zaniac campuses are bright and colorful, featuring glass-walled classrooms with white boards and large multimedia screens. The company provides a host of STEM learning programs that get kids excited about math and science while preparing them for 21st Century jobs, including Zaniac Robotics: LEGO®, Game-Based Learning: Minecraft™, 3D Printing, App Creation and Computer Programming.
