High-Intensity Interval Fitness Franchise Continues Expansion With Oxford Studio Opening

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Sept. 14, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Orangetheory® Fitness, the energizing and fast-growing fitness franchise, today announced it opened its first studio in Mississippi. The Oxford, Ms. studio is located in the Highland Court Shopping Center at 1801 Jackson Ave. West, Suite D115. With its first studio now open in the state, the innovative brand will continue to target Mississippi for additional expansion. The studio officially opened to the public on September 4, with classes starting at 5 a.m.

Local entrepreneur Joe Pegram, and his wife Summer, partnered with current Orangetheory Fitness franchisee Scot James to open the first studio in the state. Pegram also works in commercial real estate and was drawn to Orangetheory Fitness because of the brand's explosive growth.

"I had been tracking the top fitness franchises for awhile, so Orangetheory Fitness was on my radar," said Joe Pegram. "It wasn't until a friend in Memphis encouraged me to actually try the workout that I realized how powerful the concept was. I brought my wife back, and she loved the workout as much as I did, and we knew immediately that we wanted to bring it to the city of Oxford."

Summer, who will manage the studio, said, "Orangetheory will be a great addition to the Oxford community because it's a gym, fun group fitness experience, and personal trainer all in one. Plus, our heart rate monitoring system, OTbeat, sets us apart."

Pegram, who has lived in Oxford since 2009 and attended the University of Mississippi, is looking forward to showing locals and college students alike how Orangetheory Fitness can help people live a healthier life.

Orangetheory Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world's top fitness franchises, with more than 270 studios in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and South America. The 60-minute, five zone heart-rate monitored interval training concept has helped tens of thousands of members lose weight, get toned and meet their overall fitness goals in a short amount of time. The fitness franchise is on track to open 600 studios by 2017.
