September 29, 2015 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dimitri Apostle, owner of Brightway, The Dimitri J. Apostle Agency in Charlotte has made a donation to Missionaries of the Poor that will help the organization feed families in need at the non-profit’s Monroe, N.C. location.
Brightway Insurance, with headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., is a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of 118 franchised independent agencies.
“The money Dimitri has given will help us provide a hot meal to about 50 families once a week and provide them with food to take home,” Brother Chilu of Missionaries of the Poor said. “And, he’ll be here with us to serve those in need as he volunteers, so he’ll get to see his donation in action.”
The donation made is equal to two dollars for each quote Apostle’s insurance agency provide from April to June. Apostle will conduct a similar campaign for quotes provided from July to October; that donation will go to the Hovde Foundation which is focused on providing for homeless and other vulnerable children.
Missionaries of the Poor provide a place for those in need at the organization’s Monastery. In addition to serving meals to families, the organization’s ministry is focused on home, nursing home and homeless shelter visitations. The Brothers also plant fresh vegetables for needy families.
“I am thrilled to be give back to organizations that provide such worthwhile services,” said Apostle. “In some cases, Missionaries serve families their only full meal each week. This is good work that I’m proud to support.”
