Founder Billy Sims to Host Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, October 3, 2015

October 01, 2015 // Franchising.com // Dodge City, KS – The nation’s fastest growing fast-casual BBQ restaurant, Billy Sims BBQ, is opening its first Dodge City, Kan., restaurant on Friday, October 2, 2015. The Tulsa-based restaurant will host a grand opening celebration the following day, Saturday, October 3, to introduce the community to its menu of smoked meats and popular side items. The restaurant will be located at 2503 Central Avenue, Suite B in Dodge City.

To mark the occasion, restaurant founder and legendary football athlete Billy Sims will be on-hand to celebrate on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. As a thank you for coming, the first 25 guests in line will receive a $25 gift card, an Oklahoma University football, a bottle of Billy Sims barbecue sauce, a T-shirt, and a collector’s cup. The next 25 guests will receive a $15 gift card, a bottle of Billy Sims barbecue sauce, and a collector’s cup.

The restaurant’s extensive menu includes nine meats, ranging from favorites such as ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, to some unique offerings like turkey and bologna. All meats are smoked daily over pecan wood on-site at every restaurant, with careful attention to the proven recipe and process steps that have proven so popular among diners. Billy Sims BBQ completes the great dining experience with traditional sides – often with a twist – such as baked potatoes cooked in the smoker, potato salad, freshly smoked corn-on-the-cob, coleslaw, baked beans with brisket, green beans with bacon and entrée size salads with fresh vegetables.

The opening marks the third Billy Sims BBQ in the state. The other Kansas locations can be found in Andover and Chanute, Kan. Before Dodge City, the Chanute restaurant was the latest location for the franchise to open, which started welcoming guests on September 4, 2015.
