October 05, 2015 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI, OHIO – LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria, a Cincinnati icon famous for its real family recipe pizza and other Italian menu selections, is scheduled to open in Nicholasville, Kentucky (just outside of Lexington) in early 2016. The first Central Kentucky LaRosa’s will be located at 550 Keene Center Dr. in the new Keene Centre just off of US Highway 27.
LaRosa’s, which has served guests for over 60 years, has signed a franchise agreement with Lexington native Terry Seaborn to open and operate the Nicholasville pizzeria. Over many years of visiting LaRosa’s Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky pizzerias, Seaborn and his son-in-law Charbel Joseph became great fans of the restaurants.
“I had retired after spending my career in information technology and production control at Toyota and Trane” said Seaborn, who will operate the pizzeria. “Retirement just wasn’t for me. One day, Charbel (who will serve as District Manager) and I started talking about LaRosa’s, and it just clicked. "LaRosa’s is all about family, just like we are. I’m really excited to bring LaRosa’s to Nicholasville,” he said.
LaRosa’s Nicholasville will serve guests in its dining room and offer delivery in the neighborhood as well as pick up service. The 150 seat dining room will also have a “Buddy Room” for team parties and other get-togethers. Seaborn hopes to expand LaRosa’s further into Central Kentucky over time.
LaRosa’s diverse menu of over 40 selections will be available in the dining room, as well as for pick-up or delivery in the neighborhood. Along with its famous pizza (still made from a beloved LaRosa aunt’s recipe), the menu includes calzones, hoagys, pasta, appetizers, salads, desserts and special kids meals.
LaRosa’s is an honest-to-goodness all-American success story. Starting with just $1,200, founder Buddy LaRosa and a group of friends opened the first pizzeria on the west side of Cincinnati in 1954. Over six decades later, LaRosa’s has a dedicated following with 66 pizzerias in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.
“With our recent expansion in the Columbus and Knoxville areas, putting down roots in the Lexington area just made sense. And Terry and his team are the right people to do that”, said Michael LaRosa, CEO of LaRosa’s, Inc.
Further details regarding LaRosa’s Nicholasville will be announced later this year. To keep updated on progress, go to www.facebook.com/LaRosasPizzeria.
