Pizza Pizza Serves Slices of Happiness to Help Children's Miracle Network

Slices for Smiles fundraiser returns October 13 to 30

TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - Oct. 13, 2015) - Pizza Pizza, Canada's leading pizza chain, is serving up happiness and celebrating National Pizza Month with the return of its annual Slices for Smiles fundraiser. From October 13 to 30, pizza lovers across the country have the opportunity to savour a slice in support of Children's Miracle Network.

The pizza chain will attempt to break the $2 million fundraising milestone this year with the help of its sister brand, Pizza 73.

Customers are invited to support the cause and taste Pizza Pizza's new and improved recipe by walking in to their local restaurant and picking up a slice of pepperoni pizza with a can of Coke for $2.99. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these combos will benefit Children's Miracle Network and eight of its member children's hospitals in Canada. Pizza Pizza's new flavour consists of a thinner crust, dusted with durum semolina flour and home-style sauce made from 100 per cent GMO-free, vine ripened tomatoes.

"Achieving the million dollar mark was very rewarding and we can't believe we're already so close to reaching $2-million," said Pat Finelli, Chief Marketing Officer for Pizza Pizza. "With 1 in 4 kids who will need the care of a children's hospital each year, it's a cause that resonates with many of our franchise operators and their families. They see it as an important way that we can give back to the communities we serve."

Customers can also support the fundraiser by purchasing a $1 smile icon in store, or by adding a donation to orders placed by phone, online or through Pizza Pizza's award-winning mobile ordering apps. Funds that are raised locally will stay in the community to support the Children's Miracle Network member hospital for that region.
