MOD Pizza Now Open in Charlotte, North Carolina

SD Holdings Opens Second MOD Location in N.C. With Plans for Future Expansion

CHARLOTTE, NC - (Marketwired - Oct 15, 2015) - MOD Pizza, the Seattle-based company that launched the rapidly growing fast casual pizza segment, is now open in Charlotte, North Carolina. In a partnership with SD Holdings, the 2,700 square-foot MOD is located at 14318 Rivergate View Drive Suite 500, in the Shops at Rivergate South shopping center. The store features an outdoor patio, a huge 800 degree oven and MOD's signature locally inspired interior. This is the second of multiple MOD stores that SD Holdings plans to open in North Carolina.

"We could not be more excited to bring this excellent concept to the city of Charlotte!" said Yaron Goldman, CEO of SD Holdings. "We are confident that our customers are going to love the product and the atmosphere this restaurant has to offer. This is the second MOD we have opened and we are looking forward to the continued growth in the state of North Carolina."

Added Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO of MOD, "Yaron and his team share our commitment to building a company focused around people, and together, we look forward to making a difference in the Charlotte community. As we continue our expansion throughout North Carolina, we look forward to introducing more neighborhoods to the unique MOD experience and our super friendly atmosphere."

MOD's individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of over 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Pizzas and salads are the same price regardless of the number of toppings. Pizzas are hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in less than three minutes and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local craft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.

MOD currently has over 70 locations throughout the U.S. and is on track to be operating 100 stores by the end of 2015.

About MOD Pizza

Seattle-based MOD Pizza, founded in 2008 by Scott and Ally Svenson, was inspired by the couple's love of Italian street-style pizza, their desire for authentic, affordable and fast dining options for their busy family and the idea that a great company could be built around people. By serving its people first, MOD believes its people will be inspired to deliver truly exceptional service to its customers. Putting people first is therefore not just the right thing to do, it is good business...that is what MOD is all about.

The Svensons bring their experience from building two highly successful concepts -- Seattle Coffee Company and Carluccio's, and MOD's team of advisors and executives bring additional experience from iconic brands such as Starbucks, Apple, Panera Bread, Disney, T-Mobile, Dunkin Donuts, Qdoba, McDonald's and Schwartz Brothers Restaurants.

MOD is committed to creating not just a cool place to eat, but an inspired place to work. The company has been recognized as one of the "Top 50 Breakout Brands" by Nation's Restaurant News and ranked as a "Fastest Growing Company" and "Best Places to Work" by the Puget Sound Business Journal. www.modpizza.com The MOD Difference Video
