TAMPA, FL - (Marketwired - Nov 10, 2015) - College Hunks Hauling Junk has opened its second franchise in the Houston, Texas, area. New franchise owners Dave and Barbara Betzko will serve the downtown area, as well as the south and southwest parts of town.
The Betzkos are eager to capitalize on the success that College Hunks Hauling Junk has had in Houston. They will begin with hauling services and expand to moving services in early 2016. Along the way, they plan to aggressively reach out to residential and commercial markets.
"Houston is a patchwork of smaller cities, and we're going to tackle each of those as its own marketplace," Dave Betzko said. "For example, we are going to intertwine ourselves with the Chamber of Commerce in Bellaire and really get to know those residents. And then in the downtown part of our market we have a lot of high-rise condominiums, both residential and commercial. So we have a lot of different markets in our territory, and we're working on planning specific marketing, and outreach, for each one."
"That kind of market analysis, followed by aggressive action, is what will help Dave and Barbara succeed," said Nick Friedman, President and co-founder of College Hunks Hauling Junk. "All our franchise owners are very familiar with their markets, and we work with them to maximize their success with the marketing and outreach tools that we supply."
The Betzkos say that much about College Hunks Hauling Junk will help set them apart. That Houston residents already are familiar with the green-and-orange trucks and friendly, reliable workers is an added plus.
"You need to work with a team, and then build your own team, with the core values that make you a trusted business," Barbara Betzko said. "College Hunks Hauling Junk has done that here. We're trustworthy and reliable, and we present well. And we are incredibly excited about being able to recycle and donate all the things we can through our Goodwill association. We are already on their website as a provider of a 24- to 48-hour turnaround to pick up merchandise. We also hope to work with other charitable organizations for donations if we can."
As College Hunks Hauling Junk continues to expand nationwide, it is finding success both in markets where there already is a franchise presence, such as Houston, as well as entire new regions. That's not an accident, Friedman said.
"We are very aggressive when it comes to growth, but we want to do it the right way," he explained. "That means, first and foremost, finding the right franchise partner. We only want to work with people who are enthusiastic about what we've built as a company, and who believe in our mantra of 'move the world.' Dave and Barbara are those people. They already live and breathe our core values, and clients are going to be blown away by the level of service they receive."
The employees also will benefit from that enthusiasm. Even though she's going to be away at college, the Betzkos' daughter is helping in that regard.
"She's getting some interest from boys, and actually sells our company to them! We know exactly what to say -- not just to potential customers, but to people who want to work for us," Dave Betzko said. "We think that we can provide a lot of leadership to young people and show them how to run a small business the right way."
