Decorated Family Program Raises Christmas Spirit Among Deserving Military Families with Surprise Home Decorations

LUBBOCK, Texas - November 11, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - For the thirteenth consecutive year, Christmas Decor will be boosting the spirits of military families across the country through its Decorated Family Program. With over 300,000 American men and women deployed throughout the world this holiday season, military families are facing the challenge of preparing for the holidays without their loved ones. To give back to the families of these brave men and women in a small way, Christmas Decor will be creating magical memories with its annual program.

Christmas Decor, the nation’s leading professional holiday and event decorating franchise, began the Decorated Family Program in 2003 after a franchisee attended a holiday dinner party and began to consider all of the men and women overseas who will not be able to celebrate with those they love. The program was created to thank the committed soldiers for their dedication and support by decorating their family’s homes. Each holiday season, hundreds of Christmas Decor franchisees participate in this event by donating their products, resources and time to decorate the homes of local military families with lights, garland, ornaments and other trimmings as part of the Decorated Family Program.

“I’m very grateful, and very appreciative of the amount of support my wife has gotten and that our family has gotten while I was gone,” said Tim Newman, who had just returned to his family in Mahomet, IL after his third tour oversees. After the surprise reveal of the decorations he exclaimed, “This is truly amazing.”

People can nominate deserving military families in their community by filling out the Decorated Family nominations form available on the Christmas Decor Facebook Page. This form allows people to explain why the family should become a “Christmas Decor Decorated Family.” Winners are awarded based on their location, to ensure there is a local franchise to provide the award, and the impact of their story on the judges.

“The look that sneaks up on the faces of the Decorated Family when they see their fully lit house for the first time is truly magical, and what the holiday season is all about,” said Brandon Stephens, president of Christmas Decor. “We continue to push this initiative every year so we can provide the feeling of warmth and hope to so many deserving military families across the country. The American servicemen and women are the true heroes, and decorating their homes while they are deployed, or physically unable to, is the least we can do to support our courageous troops.”

The company is seeking to attract hundreds of nominations that will total at least 200 decorated homes for the 2015 holiday season. The deadline for nominations is November 20, 2015.

Operating in over 256 markets and 48 states, Christmas Decor, Inc. is the largest professional holiday & event decorating franchise. The company offers a complete decorating service program including display design, installation, maintenance, and removal of holiday lighting and decorations. Now the franchise is in the enviable position of being able to give back to communities.
