Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOS) is providing Doorbuster pricing during all opening hours on Thanksgiving evening through all day Black Friday and is planning its inventory to provide all customers the opportunity to get Doorbuster pricing and availability.
“With many retailers providing holiday discounts earlier and expanding promotions over many days, standing in line for hours on Thanksgiving or Black Friday to get a great deal - when the actual quantities are very limited - is becoming an antiquated concept,” said David Buckley, Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. According to the National Retail Federation, consumers shopped in-stores and online earlier than ever during the 2014 holiday season due to the improving economy and early promotions. This change in buying behavior is causing a shift in how much consumers spend over the busiest shopping weekend of the year.
Buckley added, “With advancements in technology impacting buying habits and the economy making consumers savvier and more sophisticated, they are less likely to stand in line to save a few dollars on an item that may not be in stock when they get their chance to buy it. Our goal is to make sure our customers don’t get doorbusted.”
The company is offering a guarantee on all Doorbuster merchandise offered November 26-27, 2015 at Sears Hometown Stores, Sears Home Appliance Showrooms and Sears Appliance & Hardware Stores only. If a Doorbuster item is not in stock, the item is guaranteed to be available for delivery or store pick up at the Doorbuster price by 12/25/15 or customer will receive the item when it becomes available and a $50 Sears gift card. There is a limit of one gift card per household.
