The Alternative Board (TAB) Founder and Executive Chairman Allen Fishman Reflects on 25 Years of TAB Business and TAB’s Future

The Alternative Board is celebrating 25 years of helping thousands of business owners worldwide achieve greater business success while living more fulfilling lives.

DENVER, CO (PRWEB) November 24, 2015 - Founded in 1990, The Alternative Board (TAB) is the world’s largest franchise system providing advisory board and coaching services for business owners. The concept was based on Fishman’s experience as president of a publicly owned company with a high paid board of directors. Fishman felt strongly that, “All companies could greatly benefit from such peer advice, but that most companies cannot afford their own high paid board of directors.” He decided to devise an alternative, affordable system in which most companies, regardless of their size, could get the type of advice that could only come from direct interaction with other business owners.

With this in mind, Fishman formed the first TAB Board in St. Louis and developed the methodology for facilitating and coaching TAB members. Not long thereafter, he began to license other experienced business professionals, using his methodologies, to expand the TAB system, including the primary tools used by TAB Facilitator/Coaches today. The Fishman explained, “The TAB system has evolved over the years to reflect changing business realities and member needs.”

Since its inception in 1990, approximately 20,000 business owners have benefited from TAB’s services. TAB has grown into a multi-national organization with TAB Boards meeting in 11 countries. Fishman commented, “One of the key factors responsible for TAB’s successful domestic and international expansion is our outstanding, experienced corporate team, who are dedicated to consistently improving our products and services.”

TAB Board members achieve higher levels of success as a result of the advice they receive from their fellow board members and their TAB Facilitator/Coach.TAB members achieve greater profitability, productivity, and personal fulfillment by participating in TAB peer advisory boards. At each monthly TAB board meeting, TAB members, who are owners of non-competing businesses, share their business expertise to help solve each other’s challenges and seize new opportunities.

TAB members also meet monthly with their TAB Facilitator/Coaches for private coaching sessions, using TAB’s unique Strategic Business Leadership (SBL) coaching process. TAB Facilitator/Coaches are trained to use TAB’s tools to help business owners identify the areas that need to be treated as priorities and create and implement strategies that will have the greatest positive impact on the company.

“Because of the dramatic evolution of technology in the business world, business owners are facing greater challenges than ever before, and a much faster rate,” Fishman noted. “Change is constant; and it is imperative for companies to adapt. Luckily, TAB guides our members through those changes. TAB Members are able to use advice from their fellow TAB Board members, as well as the advice they receive during the coaching sessions, to adapt more quickly and effectively than their competition. They are able to take better advantage of opportunities and more strategically solve challenges.”

As to TAB’s future, Fishman sees TAB increasing its strong international presence. His vision is for TAB’s proven system to be benefiting business owners in many more countries.
