Starwood Hotels & Resorts Debuts Iconic Sheraton® Brand in Harbin, the Capital City of China’s Heilongjiang Province

Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel Strengthens Brand’s Presence in Northeast China

HARBIN, China - December 9, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced the opening of Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel, marking the debut of the iconic Sheraton brand in the capital city of China’s Heilongjiang Province. Owned by Harbin Taihong Real Estate Development Co., Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eontime Real Estate (Group) Co., Ltd, Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel marks the brand’s 72nd hotel in China, further bolstering its presence in the region.

“The opening of our first Sheraton hotel in Harbin – a key political, economic and cultural center in Northeast China - marks yet another milestone for the Sheraton® brand as we celebrate our 30-year legacy in the country,” said Vincent Ong, Senior Brand Director, Asia Pacific Brand Management, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “As part of our commitment to growth in the region, as well as the Sheraton 2020 goal of adding more than 150 hotels worldwide within the next five years, we are thrilled to offer our signature brand experience to business and leisure travelers in Harbin, China’s Ice City.”

Harbin is a popular destination for winter tourism, featuring global attractions such as the beautiful Harbin International Ice & Snow festival – one of the four largest ice and snow festivals in the world. The city was also appointed the “City of Music” by UNESCO, as part of the Creative Cities Network, and is host to the popular Harbin Summer Music Concert, which attracts artists from all over the world every August.

Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel offers 400 spacious guestrooms, including 52 family rooms, all featuring a premium sleep experience, rainforest shower and luxurious bath amenities. Guests can also make use of a wide range of hotel facilities, including Sheraton® Fitness Centre, an indoor heated pool and the Sheraton® Club Lounge, with its complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments and free Wi-Fi.

Guests can enjoy a diverse selection of dining options, including specialty Chinese Restaurant Tai Mansion, which serves tantalizing Cantonese and Dongbei cuisines prepared with regional flair; FEAST®, the Sheraton brand’s signature all-day dining restaurant with open kitchen; and 63# Restaurant & Bar, featuring modern Russian cuisine, a world-class selection of home-brewed fresh draft beer and Russian vodka, as well as live music. As part of the new lobby bar menu Paired – the Sheraton brand’s reinvigorated food and beverage program – expertly matched small plates, premium wines and craft beers are also available at Lobby Lounge in a garden-style environment.

With more than 20,000 square meters of flexible meeting space, Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel boasts the largest meeting space in Northeast China, and can accommodate up to 5,000 people, catering to all types of meetings and events, weddings and social functions. The hotel features a car elevator that provides direct access to the banquet hall, as well as the Delight Hall, a unique Western European-influenced hall for weddings and other celebrations.

Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel is situated in Harbin’s new CBD Central shopping district, near corporate offices and high-end apartments, as well as retail, leisure and entertainment facilities. Zhongyang Pedestrian Street, also known as Central Street, is an excellent starting point for discovering the city’s Baroque and Byzantine charms, while Saint Sophia Cathedral, one of the city’s last remaining Russian Orthodox churches, is now a museum where visitors can explore the city’s history. Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel is just steps away from Eontime World – the largest indoor theme park in northeast China. Guests can also take a short half-hour trip to Harbin’s Siberian Tiger Park, the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers in the world. The hotel is conveniently located just 45 minutes from Harbin Taiping International Airport, and 30 minutes from both Coach Station and Harbin Railway Station – where travelers to or from Moscow can take the Trans-Siberian Railway.
