Home Care Assistance of St. Louis’ Garrard Named Local Caregiver of the Year

Daphne Garrard was recently honored at VOYCE Awards Luncheon for her exceptional care and skills.

Garrard was honored at the VOYCE Caregiver Awards Luncheon earlier this month.

Garrard has worked as a caregiver at Home Care Assistance of St. Louis since 2012. She provides exceptional care to her clients not only through her wide range of knowledge and skills, but in her kindness and dedication. Garrard is always eager to help anyone who needs care and will seek out opportunities to preserve her clients’ independence and dignity no matter what their diagnosis or situation. She is reliable and will often sacrifice her own time or plans to assist a client in need. Garrard assisted several of her clients in the final stages of life; she excels at providing comfort and knowledge to clients and their families during their most difficult times.

VOYCE (formerly the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program) recognizes staff and volunteers who demonstrate excellence in person-centered care. Honorees embody the voice of compassion by doing an outstanding job caring for and respecting the rights of those receiving long-term care.
