College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Enters Fort Lauderdale Market

Sunshine State Expansion Continues for the Rapidly Growing Moving and Removal Franchise, With Fort Lauderdale as the Latest Location

TAMPA, FL - (Marketwired - Dec 15, 2015) - College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving has added a Fort Lauderdale franchise to its already sizeable Florida presence. The moving and junk removal operation will be headed up by owner Richard Tommer, a commercial real estate broker with extensive experience in the market.

"I wanted to add to my business portfolio, but not with just any company," Tommer said. "I really like what College Hunks stands for in terms of mentoring young people and making a difference in the community."

College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving is the fastest-growing junk removal franchise and moving franchise in America. The company has made Entrepreneur magazine's list of top franchise opportunities for five years in a row and continues its nationwide expansion by bringing professionalism and sophisticated marketing to an industry that is in constant demand.

"Richard brings so much to the table," said Omar Soliman, president and co-founder of College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving. "His extensive background in real estate means that he knows who needs moving and removal services and when they need them. That kind of expertise is invaluable, and it will make him a leader in the Fort Lauderdale market very quickly."

In fact, one of Tommer's first hires was due to his broker connections, and he is already paying dividends for the new franchise.

"We are very lucky that our general manager came out of the staffing industry, so he is very well connected with a lot of companies that we can reach out to," Tommer said. "We'd gone to him for help in getting our initial staff, and he wound up coming to work for us instead!"

Tommer said he'd considered other franchises briefly, but he didn't want a business that required a large geographic footprint or the need to keep an inventory. He wanted something that was all about service -- and College Hunks fit the bill.

"We recently did a job for a gentleman who said that if we were woodworkers, he would call us master carpenters," he said. "The training we provide and the attitude our guys have going into someone's house and dealing with customers are really special. We treat customers as if they are family."

"Our core values, as well as our insistence on every team member dressing professionally and going the extra mile, do make a huge difference in any market," Soliman added. "Richard has seen that right away, and the young people he's mentoring are learning the right way to operate a successful business. It's a win for them, and for our clients."

To further prove the point, Tommer relates another story of a satisfied customer:

"We did a garage clear-out for a couple who'd been living in the same house for 50 years and were going to be moving," he said. "When we got done, the wife came out and said that she was going to have a dinner party in there, because she hadn't seen that floor in 50 years!"
