TruGreen Donates More than $125,000 to Local Non-Profits through Lawn Stars Program

High-Performing Offices across U.S. Awarded with Funds to Make Philanthropic Donations

MEMPHIS, TENN. (PRWEB) DECEMBER 23, 2015 - TruGreen today announced that it is donating more than $125,000 to 10 local and national charities as part of the company's Lawn Stars program. Each quarter in 2015, TruGreen awarded local branches demonstrating exceptional growth and customer service with a $2,000 donation towards the non-profit of their choice.

"After launching Lawn Stars several years ago, it has quickly turned into one of the most popular programs at TruGreen. This enthusiasm reflects how much our teams value and appreciate giving back to the neighborhoods we serve and the people who help build them," said TruGreen President and CEO David Alexander. "We reward our high-performing local offices by helping teams recognize worthy organizations that are doing vital work in the communities where we live and work. We are proud of what our associates achieved this year and are pleased to contribute to several incredible charitable organizations."

The TruGreen Lawn Stars program is a quarterly competition that recognizes high-performing local sales and service teams. This year, 63 teams were recognized, with many branches becoming second and third-time winners. Each winning branch chose from one of 10 worthy charities, either nationally or in the local area, to donate $2,000 and help make a difference in their communities. For the 2015 season, the Memphis-based organization St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was a top choice, with branches electing to donate more than $30,000 to the non-profit. In addition, TruGreen selected the following worthy organizations to receive donations from the 2015 Lawn Stars program.

  • American Red Cross
  • Boys & Girls Clubs
  • Canadian Red Cross
  • Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation
  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
  • Feed the Hungry
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Special Olympics
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
  • Wounded Warriors Project

"We are so grateful to TruGreen's Lawn Stars. Feed The Hungry provides life-saving meals to some of the world's most disadvantaged and vulnerable children," said Feed The Hungry Executive Director Stefan Radelich. "In 2015 TruGreen stepped up to send over 20,500 meals to hungry children; it is an amazing testament to the company's sense of social responsibility."
