Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers Is Now Open in River City, Jacksonville, Florida

Handcrafted pizza and a unique art filled environment inspired by the theme of transportation are just a couple of reasons to stop into Mellow Mushroom River City today.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (PRWEB) January 06, 2016 - Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is now open in the River City area of Jacksonville at 15170 Max Leggett Parkway. This Mellow sports a clean, sleek and contemporary yet warm and inviting design, full of intriguing art, which invites guests to explore the interior and seek out conversation pieces.

Mellow Mushroom River City is owned by John Valentino, who owns several other Mellow Mushrooms in the Jacksonville area. Asked what inspired him to open this Mellow, he responds, “When I looked at the Jacksonville area, the River City Market place seemed like the next logical move for our brand. From my love of travel I gained inspiration for the new design and thought it was a perfect fit.”

Mellow Mushroom’s menu showcases natural flavors and the freshest of ingredients in a creative menu assortment of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones, appetizers and vegetarian and vegan options. Gluten free crust and a kids menu are also available.

All Mellow Mushrooms are known as places that provide an entertaining experience in a unique, artistically decorated environment, and this one is no exception. Starting at the entrance, the restaurant feels larger once inside. The interior depicts a variety of transportation based industries and includes a host station made of stacked luggage. There is a whimsical traffic signal, and two actual shipping crates are carved and structured to provide intimate dining and lounging within. Railroad ties serve as benches, and travel posters pepper the walls. Families will particularly love to examine the 144 small model airplanes incased in glass and mounted on the wall. Another wall is filled with international license plates.

The full service bar features an extensive wine list and fresh, handcrafted cocktails, local and regional craft brews as well as the more popular commercial brands. Guests can also enjoy the Florida room and patio.

Activities abound. Catch all sorts of sports action on any of the 22 TVs. There is even a stage area for live music. After some time Mellow will host Trivia on Mondays, Bingo on Tuesday, Kids Night on Wednesday (1/2 off kid meals), Ladies Night on Thursday and live music Thursday-Saturday. Mellow will also offer happy hour Monday-Friday, 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Late night happy hour will run Sunday-Thursday from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.

From opening day, Mellow Mushroom River City will establish deep roots into the community by reaching out to local charities, schools and causes, starting with Friends and Family night, where a part of the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club.
