CycleBar® Pumps Energy into American Heart Month

Premier Indoor Cycling™ Franchise Partners with American Heart Association to Host Charity Rides

February 04, 2016 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI – The American Heart Association (AHA) brings heart health to the forefront of national conversation every February during American Heart Month, an entire month dedicated to heart disease awareness and fundraising. As heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S., CycleBar® is doing its part to take a stand against this issue. The premier indoor cycling franchise will be hosting a variety of charity rides and events to contribute to a cause that’s close to its heart.

On February 5, CycleBar will be participating in Macy’s Go Red Day, during which CycleBar is encouraging its community of riders to wear red to their energy-inducing ride in support of American Heart Month. On February 11, CycleBar will be taking part in Life is Why: Go Red Event Fashion Show at the Peacock Pavilion Cincinnati Zoo to showcase red CycleBar apparel. Heart disease survivors will be wearing the red CycleBar apparel in the fashion show as well.

CycleBar’s flagship location in Hyde Park will also host three charity rides throughout the month that take place on February 6, 13, and 27. The studio will be donating $1 per ride for every 20, 50, and 100 ride packages purchased during the weekends in February. Guests can also buy a red CycleBar shirt for $10 all month long, with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the AHA. Additionally, a percentage of all merchandise sales during the weekend will also be donated to the AHA.

“Partnering with the American Heart Association allows us to directly contribute to heart disease research while promoting a healthy heart lifestyle through cardio exercise,” said Heather Harris, President of CycleBar®. “Cardiovascular disease is responsible for one out of every three deaths in the U.S. and we’re hoping to engage the community in as many ways as we can to do our part to spread awareness.”

In addition to the February events, CycleBar will be a sponsor of Cincinnati’s 39th “The Heart Mini,” the city’s largest single-day fundraiser for the American Heart Association. As a partner for the event, CycleBar will be hosting five classes on Saturday, March 12 at the Duke Energy Convention Center.

CycleBar® has a history of finding energetic and entertaining ways to raise money for national organizations with its “CycleGiving™” charitable efforts, most recently holding several themed charity rides in support of the Movember Foundation. In October, CycleBar held Breast Cancer Awareness charity rides and other in-studio events for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and in August they put on a “Rock the Bridge” cycling event on the People Purple Bridge in Cincinnati for the American Heart Association. Organizations can team up with CycleBar® locations to plan charity rides in which charitable organizations will receive all proceeds from the riders who register for a designated ride. These rides can generate as much as $10,000 in an hour towards their cause of choice.
