Jamie Wilson Promoted to President and CEO of ZipRealty

Lanny Baker to Serve as Digital Technology Advisor for Parent Company

March 07, 2016 // Franchising.com // MADISON, N.J. and EMERYVILLE, Calif. - The Realogy Franchise Group announced the promotion of Jamie Wilson to president and chief executive officer of its subsidiary, ZipRealty. Wilson is a 16-year veteran of ZipRealty, and has served as senior vice president for technology since 2013, where he has been responsible for all aspects of technology, including product development and IT infrastructure.

Under Wilson’s leadership, ZipRealty developed the proprietary ZAPSM technology platform and seamless digital experience that Realogy is currently deploying to its franchisees. More than 550 Realogy franchise brokerage companies have launched this innovative technology platform since the rollout began in mid-2015, and Realogy expects that half of its approximately 2,700 franchisees will be on the ZAP platform by year-end 2016.  In his new role, Wilson will report to Alex Perriello, president and chief executive officer of the Realogy Franchise Group (RFG), and will be a member of the RFG’s senior leadership team.

“Jamie Wilson has been guiding product development at ZipRealty since the company was a start-up,” said Perriello. “With the integration of ZipRealty well underway, the company is quickly transforming into a technology product organization, which supports all the Realogy brands. We are excited about the new ideas that our Emeryville innovation center is developing such as the ZAPSM Store, and I am confident of Jamie’s ability to lead the ZipRealty team into the future.”

“I am honored to be leading the ZipRealty team and embrace the challenge of rolling out our technology platform on such a grand scale,” said Wilson. “It’s an exhilarating time to be developing new technology for real estate brokerages, and we are greatly motivated by the enthusiastic response ZAP has received from our large client base of brokers and agents affiliated with the Realogy franchise brands.”

Lanny Baker, who served as ZipRealty’s CEO for the last six years, will remain with the Realogy Franchise Group’s parent company, Realogy Holdings Corp. (NYSE: RLGY), as a digital technology advisor to Richard Smith, Realogy’s chairman, chief executive officer and president.

Perriello continued, “I would like to thank Lanny Baker for his leadership and contributions to the success of ZipRealty. Lanny led what was then a publicly traded company through a transformative period during which he helped to successfully refine ZipRealty’s innovative brokerage business model and expanded its technology offerings prior to its acquisition by Realogy in 2014. We are pleased that he will continue to work with Realogy as a digital technology advisor.”

“I am so proud of what the ZipRealty team has accomplished together through the years, especially over the past 18 months where we successfully accelerated the development and deployment of ZAP into the Realogy franchise networks,” said Baker. “The future is bright for ZipRealty, and I am thrilled to pass the leadership baton to Jamie, who has been a vital member of the ZipRealty team every step of the way. I am also excited to take on this new role and contribute to Realogy on a broader strategic level as a digital technology advisor to Chairman Richard Smith.”

Wilson joined ZipRealty in 2000, and has contributed to and led the development of ZipRealty’s award-winning website, CRM and mobile products since his arrival. Prior to joining ZipRealty, Wilson served as director of investment services at Pension Dynamics Corporation where he helped develop their technology and marketing strategies. He also previously worked at Prizm Communications, where he leveraged new communications technologies to develop one of the first virtual call centers.

Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at University of California Berkeley.
