Tutor Doctor Supports GoodLife Kids Foundation Across the Country Through Spin4Kids Plus

Fastest-Growing Global In-Home Private Tutoring Franchise Donates Money to Help Kids Stay Active

TORONTO - March 11, 2016 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Participants in one of Canada’s largest annual fundraisers, franchisees representingTutor Doctor, the fastest-growing “in-home” private tutoring franchise in the world, joined in the Spin4Kids Plus event on March 5th. Spin4Kids Plus is a one day indoor fitness fundraising event that supports the GoodLife Kids Foundation.

Teams of 1-8 people participate in one hour of fitness to generate a minimum of $125 per person to provide opportunities for Canadian kids to stay healthy and active. The yearly event features a variety of activities, including indoor cycling, Zumba and BodyCombat.

With a presence in more than 40 cities in Canada, over 25 Tutor Doctor franchisees participated, and the company contributed a $2,500 donation to Spin4Kids Plus.

“Tutor Doctor takes a holistic approach to education. We look at the whole child,” said Frank Milner, president of Tutor Doctor. “The social, emotional and physical well-being of the students we work with contributes to their academic performance. That’s why we are big supporters of keeping kids active through initiatives like Spin4Kids Plus and are more than happy to give back to the GoodLife Kids Foundation.”

GoodLife Kids Foundation, which provides funding to national, provincial and local programs that provide sustainable physical activity to kids ages 4-14, receives 100 percent of the funds raised during the Spin4Kids Plus event.

According to recent studies, only 9 percent of Canadian minors get the recommended 60 minutes per day of moderate to vigorous physical activity. GoodLife Kids Foundation not only raises funds for children but also helps remove barriers that hold children back from living a healthy life.

To date, GoodLife Kids Foundation has impacted the lives of more than 235,000 Canadian kids through physical activity opportunities.
