April 27, 2016 // Franchising.com // ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Valpak is excited to announce that Shakon “Shak” Turner, CFE, has recently joined the company as Franchise Sales Director. Turner fills the position previously held by Greg Courchane, who is retiring after 13 years with Valpak. She is responsible for securing new Valpak franchisees in available markets, as well as assisting in the franchise resale process. Turner brings over 10 years’ experience in the franchise industry as a top performer in sales and business development, building relationships and delivering high impact results.

Turner was previously Director of Business Development with FRM (Franchise Relationships Management) Solutions, a subsidiary of ARKE Systems, a marketing technology firm that focuses on CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system solutions. Prior to that, she was Director of Franchise Development at Front Burner Brands, which includes Melting Pot and Burger 21, where she increased franchise sales by 15 percent in 2014 and increased leads by 26 percent in the same year.
Turner also held leadership positions in franchise development with notable national brands, such as CiCi’s Pizza and Checkers Drive-In Restaurants. In addition, she led and executed sponsorship strategies to build revenue for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Turner received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, as well as achieved Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation from the International Franchise Association.
