Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa Targets South Florida as Hub for Expansion

Massage and Skin Care Franchise to Host Educational Seminar for Prospective Franchisees in Boca Raton

TREVOSE, PENN. (PRWEB) June 02, 2016 - Following a record-breaking year in 2015, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, the nation’s fastest growing massage and skin care franchise, has targeted Florida as an important piece in the brand’s progressive development strategy. In June 2016, the brand will host a special, invitation-only dinner event and seminar in Boca Raton for prospective franchisees.

“We have strategically selected South Florida as a prime market for our brand’s continued development based on the strong demographics in the area,” said Todd Leff, president and chief executive officer of the brand, which now boasts more than 250 locations nationwide. “The demand for massage, facials and skin care has never been greater, and we’re thrilled to offer this exclusive event for driven, entrepreneurial minded individuals searching for a lucrative business opportunity in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties to learn more about the benefits of partnering with our rapidly growing franchise system.”

Hand & Stone began 2016 with 256 open spas in the U.S. and Canada, up from 194 just a year before, and is already pacing ahead of 2015 for revenue growth. In addition to the brand’s aggressive expansion plan, Hand & Stone also unveiled a new headquarters in Pennsylvania in 2016, launched a partnership with David’s Bridal and expanded a national sponsorship with Carli Lloyd, star of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team.

“Over the last two years, Hand & Stone has increased emphasis on branching out beyond our strong East Coast presence and tapping into new markets primed for quick growth,” said Bob McQuillan, Vice President of Franchise Development at Hand & Stone. “Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are part of the crown jewels of that effort, and we’re excited to partner with driven franchise owners to help push new development into these lucrative markets. Most of our franchise owners have no massage experience but are business people who understand that this industry is ripe for quick expansion and love the fact that we are providing a positive, health and wellness centered service to the community.”

Launched in 2004 by John Marco, a physical therapist with 20 years of experience, Hand & Stone’s mission is to bring what was previously considered luxury services to the masses. As a full service day spa, Hand & Stone not only offers massage therapy but also capitalizes on facials and hair removal services.

“Hand & Stone works hard to create a relaxed and welcoming environment in the communities we serve,” said Bill Butrymowicz, franchise owner of Jupiter, Fla. and Wellington, Fla. Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spas. “Being a part of the Hand & Stone community is especially exciting because of the growing health and wellness industry, and the corporate team offers support and training through every step of the way, which set us up for success right off the bat.”

Hand & Stone surpassed $185 million in system wide sales for 2015, up from $125 million in 2014, fueled by strong comparable store sales and new unit growth. In 2015, the Hand & Stone system achieved another year of 20 percent plus comparable store growth, the fourth straight year of comparable sales growth in excess of 20 percent. Newly available franchise opportunities in Florida continue the brand’s mission to expand throughout the U.S. in 2016, offering residents a chance to add massages and facials to their wellness routines at a price that’s more affordable and with locations that are more convenient than traditional day spas.

“The Health and Wellness Spa Industry currently represents more than $16.3 billion in annual revenues and is projected to grow by an additional 3.8 percent each year through 2020,” said Leff. “But Hand & Stone, with more than 275 locations in the U.S. and Canada, has far outpaced the industry’s growth averages, and we believe Florida is perfectly positioned to continue that trend. We hope potential franchise partners will take full advantage of this opportunity to learn more about our brand through the upcoming dinner seminar.”
