Raising Cane’s Prepares For 1st Weatherford Grand Opening

Ribbon-cutting ceremony, 99.5 ‘The Wolf’ remote add to Tuesday’s festivities.

June 03, 2016 // Franchising.com // WEATHERFORD, TX – Caniacs in Weatherford can finally circle their calendars for the arrival of their very own Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.

The popular Louisiana-based restaurant company known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will hold its grand opening on Tuesday, June 7, marking the 93rd Raising Cane’s in Texas and the 269th nationwide.

Located at 1824 South Main St., in front of Walmart, the new restaurant will kick off the festivities at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 50-60 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.

Local residents should not be surprised if loyal fans of the brand – affectionately known as “Caniacs” – decide to campout overnight to be the first in line for their favorite chicken finger meals.

To add to the opening day excitement, Mark Phillips from 99.5 “The Wolf” will be broadcasting remotely and handing out giveaways from the restaurant between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

In addition, the first 20 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! And the first 100 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive a free Cane’s Weatherford T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen Chicken Fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

“There are more Raising Cane’s restaurants in North Texas than anywhere else in the nation, but it took us a while to get to Weatherford,” said General Manager Tiffanee Huff, a 22-year industry veteran who has served as GM of the South Arlington Cane’s for the last five years. “We’ve assembled a great crew here and we’re all very excited to start sharing our ONE LOVE with the good folks of Weatherford. We’ve already begun our support of the local community and we’re looking forward to doing even more with the schools and other organizations throughout the area in the months and years ahead.”

On June 1, Huff and her fellow crewmembers volunteered at Parker Paws – a not-for-profit animal rescue shelter in Parker County – where they built dog beds and made toys for the shelter and foster dogs. The restaurant plans to partner with Weatherford High School and Weatherford College beginning this fall.

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 and named for his yellow Labrador, Raising Cane, the rapidly growing company recently earned the distinction of being among the Top 10 quick service restaurant chains in the nation for 2015, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study, based on food quality, customer service, cleanliness and other important factors.

Hours of operation at the Weatherford Raising Cane’s are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
