College H.U.N.K.S. Franchisee Dana Burton Has an Impressive Resume, and She Plans to Use Her Expertise to Build Leaders

Dana Burton will lead the H.U.N.K.S. team. (H.U.N.K.S. stands for Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable Service.) She is a 55-year-old former project manager with an MBA from the University of Maryland, and has called the area home since 1985.

The junk removal and moving business will serve New Market, Mt. Airy, Woodbine, Cooksville, Sykesville, Ellicott City, Columbia and Clarksville, in addition to many other cities and towns in Frederick and Howard counties.

Professional service

Burton decided to open a College H.U.N.K.S. moving and junk removal business after leaving a career as a project manager in the aviation industry. She was impressed by the company's professionalism, its commitment to incredible stress-free customer service and its entrepreneurial ethos, which encourages team members to be much more than brawn by offering them opportunities to learn about marketing, accounting, customer service and management. She's excited to help build leaders, especially by providing a launch platform to highly motivated individuals who have great attitudes but haven't had a lot of opportunities.

Barton's career also included a stint working at CitiBank, where she was part of a team that was focused on creating what she calls a "customer service factory" -- a regimented process for anticipating customer needs and delivering consistently outstanding service.
