June 14, 2016 // Franchising.com // FREDERICK, MD - College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving - which has been featured on "Blue Collar Millionaire," "Shark Tank," and other primetime shows - has expanded into Frederick. The company provides local moving, junk removal, donation pickups and more.
Dana Burton will lead the H.U.N.K.S. team. (H.U.N.K.S. stands for Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable Service.) She is a 55-year-old former project manager with an MBA from the University of Maryland, and has called the area home since 1985.
The junk removal and moving business will serve New Market, Mt. Airy, Woodbine, Cooksville, Sykesville, Ellicott City, Columbia and Clarksville, in addition to many other cities and towns in Frederick and Howard counties.
Burton decided to open a College H.U.N.K.S. moving and junk removal business after leaving a career as a project manager in the aviation industry. She was impressed by the company's professionalism, its commitment to incredible stress-free customer service and its entrepreneurial ethos, which encourages team members to be much more than brawn by offering them opportunities to learn about marketing, accounting, customer service and management. She's excited to help build leaders, especially by providing a launch platform to highly motivated individuals who have great attitudes but haven't had a lot of opportunities.
"College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and moving is a place where you can learn about business, marketing and customer service and get some ideas to help you build the next phase of your life," Burton says. College H.U.N.K.S. employees are encouraged to move up the ranks and to learn entrepreneurial skills so they can become a general manager or own their own business one day. "I want you to succeed in life, not just as a College H.U.N.K.S. employee."
Barton's career also included a stint working at CitiBank, where she was part of a team that was focused on creating what she calls a "customer service factory" -- a regimented process for anticipating customer needs and delivering consistently outstanding service.
One of the remarkable things about College H.U.N.K.S., which she is eager for customers to experience, is the way the company has brought high-level customer service to the moving and junk removal industry.
Barton's business is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. You can reach her at (410) 246-1530 or http://locations.collegehunkshaulingjunk.com/md/frederick.html.
