ATLANTA - June 13, 2016 // PRNewswire // - Consumers looking to beat the heat should grab their favorite flip flops and head over to Tropical Smoothie Café this Friday, June 17th from 2-7pm for a free 24 ounce Jetty Punch Smoothie, no shoe laces attached. The brand hopes to raise funds and awareness for Camp Sunshine, the Maine-based organization devoted to providing a healthy, happy camp experience to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The smoothie giant hopes to raise $1 million through donations.
"This is our tenth year celebrating National Flip Flop Day. We view it as the unofficial beginning of summer and a great way to shine a light on a life-changing program benefitting thousands of families," said Mike Rotondo, CEO of Tropical Smoothie Café and the driving force behind the fundraising effort. The brand expects to use more than a quarter of a million bananas and 63,000 pounds of strawberries during the five-hour Jetty Punch Smoothie giveaway. To date, the brand has donated more than $3.7 Million to Camp Sunshine.
