Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning Continues Support of Water.org

Donates Nearly $23,000 in First Nine Months

August 02, 2016 // Franchising.com // LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Since announcing its support of Water.org in October 2015, Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, one of the nation’s fastest-growing carpet cleaning franchises, has donated nearly $22,886, helping provide access to safe water and sanitation for more than 900 people.

Co-founded by Academy Award-winning Matt Damon and social entrepreneur Gary White, Water.org is a nonprofit organization that has transformed millions of lives in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean by providing access to clean water and sanitation.

“Business philanthropy is a relatively simple thing, but it is a very powerful action. It sends a huge message that says, ‘We are more than just an earnings machine. We are a partner with you. We are in it with you. We care.’ And that makes a difference,” said Oxi Fresh Founder and CEO Jonathan Barnett. “We couldn’t be more proud of our contributions to such an important and worthwhile cause.”

Over the past nine months, Oxi Fresh customers have been encouraged to book their carpet cleanings online with $2.00 per job being donated to Water.org. The proceeds have gone to helping Water.org reach some of the 663 million people worldwide who lack access to safe water.

“The team at Oxi Fresh and all of our franchisees want to help those in need,” said Kris Antolak, the company’s vice president, “and so we’re happy to give to this cause and are excited to keep giving as time goes on.”

Topics like the importance of water are nothing new to Oxi Fresh. In fact, water conservation has been one of the company’s highest priorities since its inception in 2006. To date, Oxi Fresh has saved more than 25 million gallons of water using its innovative carpet cleaning method that only requires two gallons of water per home – as opposed to the 40-50 gallons that many other carpet cleaners use. Naturally, tackling another aspect of the global water crisis, that of access to water and sanitation in developing countries, is a cause Oxi Fresh feels strongly about.
