This south side Atlanta Mellow has an eye-catching, modern and sleek design, full of both nostalgic and modern art, which invites guests to explore the inside and look for all the curiosities and conversation pieces.

Every Mellow is individually owned and operated. Mellow Mushroom College Park is owned by Bart Baker and Alex Nardone. Asked what inspired them to open this Mellow, they replied that Baker, a native of Atlanta and Nardone, who both have established roots in College Park, wanted to create a novel concept of dining in the area that longtime residents as well as those traveling to the community could enjoy. They said, “What better way to end the day than having good times and good food with us, reviving your spirit.”

Mellow Mushroom’s menu showcases natural flavors and fresh ingredients in a creative menu, which showcases pizzas, sandwiches and burgers, salads, calzones and appetizers, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. A gluten free crust and a kids menu are also highlighted.

All Mellow Mushrooms are known as places that provide an entertaining experience in a unique, artistic environment, and this one is no exception. Mellow Mushroom College Park is a celebration of Atlanta icons and the gift of flight that gave wings to the city’s cosmopolitan identity. For example, the mural located in the private dining room is a melting pot of historical icons and businesses that takes the viewer back to the events and people that shaped Atlanta into what it is today. The exterior features a collection of airplanes and other aviation symbols inspired by Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, which is a central hub of international travel, bringing visitors from around the world.

Guests can participate in an online tour of the art at this Mellow by following the directions on the plaque at the front of the store. The online tour features description of the art pieces and artists who designed for this restaurant and connects guests with the artists’ online portfolios.

The full service bar features an extensive wine list, fresh handcrafted cocktails and both local and regional craft brews, 36 draft lines in all, as well as the more popular commercial brands.

Activities abound. Catch all sorts of sports action with numerous widescreen TVs, set up to make sure patrons don’t miss any of their favorite games. The restaurant has an open dining area with spacious booths and table seating. The private dining room can accommodate up to 32 guests and can be reserved for parties and special occasions. The outdoor seating is the perfect place to catch up with friends and family, while enjoying the skyline view and amazing sunsets. This location will eventually host special events such as pint night and team trivia.
