Leading Holiday Lighting and Decorating Franchise Launches Fourteenth Consecutive Decorated Family Program

IRVING, Texas - September 08, 2016 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - More than 220,000 American men and women are deployed overseas this season; leaving military families across the nation to spend the holidays without their loved ones. To boost spirits and spread holiday cheer, Christmas Decor will be launching its fourteenth consecutive Decorated Family Program to transform homes into winter wonderlands.

Founded in 2003, the Decorated Family Program began after a Christmas Decor franchisee attended a holiday dinner party, only to leave thinking about all of the men and women overseas who could not celebrate with loved ones. As a way to give back and thank the committed soldiers for their dedication, Christmas Decor began decorating military family’s homes to ignite holiday spirit and create magical memories. Now a seasonal tradition, hundreds of franchisees nationwide participate by donating products, resources and time to decorate the homes of local military families with lights, garland, ornaments and other trimmings. Following the decorating process, each decked out home is revealed during a surprise ceremony.

“The initial look on the faces of each family member upon seeing their house fully lit for the first time is truly magical,” said Brandon Stephens, president of Christmas Decor. “Seeing how much happiness our decorations bring to these families is why we continue to push this initiative every year. Our servicemen and women are real life heroes and decking out their homes while they’re deployed or physically unable to is the least we can do to show our gratitude and support our courageous troops.”

Community members are encouraged to nominate deserving military families by completing the Decorated Family submission form available on the Christmas Decor Facebook Page. This form provides a place to share the family’s story and explain why they should become a “Christmas Decor Decorated Family.” Winners will be awarded based on the impact the story has on the judges, as well as location to ensure there is a local franchise to provide the services. The company seeks to attract hundreds of nominations that will result in beautifully decorated homes for the 2016 holiday season. The deadline for nominations is November 11, 2016.

After the surprise reveal of the decorations he exclaimed, “This is truly amazing.”
