All-American, Family-Friendly Diner Makes Kershaw County Debut By Giving Back to the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands
September 12, 2016 // Franchising.com // Gamecocks-Nation, the city of Lugoff and the community of Kershaw County welcomes its new favorite burger joint as the highly-lauded Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries readies for business.
Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries is scheduled to welcome guests at its new Lugoff, SC location at 828 Highway 1 South in Lugoff on Monday, September 12. With multiple South Carolina locations already in Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach and Charleston, the Lugoff restaurant adds to the brand’s statewide-profile, and approximately 50 new Hwy 55 locations are planned for South Carolina over the next 10 years.
"Lugoff is less than 30 miles from Columbia, which is the largest city in South Carolina, so we chose this location knowing that the suburbs will continue to grow and spread so this community is attractively stable for a new business with a good future outlook," said Doug Campbell franchisee owner of the Lugoff location and proud Gamecocks alum. “Lugoff still has that small town feel so we know Hwy 55's family-friendly concept and dedication to authentic hospitality will fit right in."
With 128 units and growing quickly, Hwy 55 boasts a fresh, All-American diner experience with fresh, never-frozen burgers, premium sliced cheesesteaks piled high on steamed hoagies, and frozen custard made in-house every day. With its open-grill design, the kitchen's dedication and care when hand-crafting meals is front and center.
“I founded Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries 25 years ago to provide our guests with great food, friendly service and honest value,” said Hwy 55 president Kenney Moore, who flipped every burger himself at Hwy 55 for the brand’s first two years of business. “Those principles continue today at all of our restaurants and I’m excited that in our new Lugoff location, this vibrant community has a rich family tradition which pairs perfectly with Hwy 55's focus on retro values and always-fresh take on classics."
In keeping with Hwy 55’s continued mission to give back to the communities it enters, Hwy 55’s Andy’s Charitable Foundation and the local franchise owners will donate 10% of sales from the restaurant’s first three days to the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands, whose mission is to enable all young people, especially those in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.Andy’s Charitable Foundation is Hwy 55’s most visible commitment to community involvement.
