North American Property Restoration Company Targets Lansing for Large Scale Growth
PuroClean CEO and Franchise Owner Will Discuss the Rising Demand for Restoration Services Sept. 27
September 13, 2016 // Franchising.com // LANSING – About one in 15 insured homes in Lansing has a property damage claim each year resulting from water or fire damage, to the tune of $115.6 million in direct losses incurred within the Lansing metro market. To address the demand, PuroClean, a leading North American property restoration company with more than 230 franchisees throughout North America, will host events on Sept. 27 in Lansing, where executives and a franchise owner will discuss the need for restoration services with ambitious entrepreneurs in the region.
PuroClean CEO and co-owner Mark Davis, along with other PuroClean executives and PuroClean franchise owner Becky Edgren of Dayton, Ohio, will host a pair of events on Sept. 27. Edgren is a former CEO of a tool company that manufactured parts for the aerospace, defense, energy and oil industries before becoming a PuroClean franchisee in 2008. Davis will share his vision for the national restoration company and why owning a franchise in Lansing could be the start of a business ownership path with unlimited potential for personal, professional and financial growth; Edgren will share her experience as a PuroClean franchise owner, why she joined the brand, and the positive impact it has had on her life while providing certified, trained professionals to serve homes and businesses damaged by water, mold, fire and natural disasters.
The events will be held at Crown Plaza Lansing West, 925 S. Creyts Road, Lansing, Michigan. The first session will take place at Noon and will include lunch, while the second will be at 6:30 p.m.
Davis is also co-CEO and co-owner of Troy, Mich.-based Signal Restoration, sharing ownership and responsibilities with Michigan native Frank Torre, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist in the state. Signal Restoration shares a mutually beneficial relationship with PuroClean. Signal Restoration is seeking a PuroClean franchise owner in Lansing to assist with loss coverage and needs a PuroClean franchise to refer the large amount of restoration work to.
Lansing is one of 11 new markets PuroClean has targeted for expansion due to high demand for restoration services. With more than 230 units in its franchise network, PuroClean is projected to add 40 new franchise owners across the United States, growing the network to nearly 300 in 2016. PuroClean also has 32 franchises in Canada.
“When damage occurs, property owners file claims with their insurance companies, who in turn refer and pay a professional restoration company to clean up and mitigate the damage. Situations like this arise at any time, making our business constantly in demand,” Davis said. “Our PuroClean franchise owners manage a crew to do the work, spend their time marketing the business, and establish relationships with the insurance agencies that drive business to PuroClean.”
More than 50,000 water damage losses occur per day in the United States, as well as $21.6 million in daily fire damage losses. Overall, around the country, the restoration industry is a $188 billion industry. Davis noted that while many people associate cleanup and restoration with large-scale natural disasters, a significant share of calls for PuroClean service stems from common household and business mishaps such as overflowing washing machines, freezing, bursting or leaking pipes, mold growth that ensues after a water loss, and kitchen fires. About 37 percent of American homeowners claim water damage through their insurance company. In fact, water damage claims are growing faster than any other component of homeowner’s insurance, according to the American Insurance Association.
“PuroClean is known as the ‘Paramedics of Property Damage’ for a reason,” said Steve White, president and COO of PuroClean. “Our franchise owners are the everyday heroes that help restore properties and help get people’s lives back to normal.”
PuroClean is a leading commercial and residential restoration company. Founded in 1991, the company offers fire and water cleanup, restoration services, mold mitigation, remediation, and biohazard cleanup and removal throughout the United States and Canada through its franchise network of more than 230 offices.
