Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Franchise to Add 10 Locations in Clark County
LAS VEGAS - September 20, 2016 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Temperatures are getting colder as Sub Zero Ice Cream expands its presence to Las Vegas. Area developers are planning to add 10 franchise locations, introducing a one-of-a-kind concept serving the creamiest, customizable ice cream that’s rapidly frozen using -321 degree liquid nitrogen.
Local residents and Sub Zero area developers, Shane and Virginia Smith, have identified Las Vegas and the surrounding Southern Nevada area for franchise expansion because of the region’s rebounding economy, infrastructure and real estate primed for new small businesses, they said. Sub Zero is seeking single and multi-unit franchise partners, offering up to 25 percent off franchise fees for veterans, first responders and educators.

Shane Smith is a former Salt Lake City police officer and professional photographer, who continues to teach photography at the College of Southern Nevada. Virginia has 30 years of experience in health care administration. The couple invested in Sub Zero five years ago, building two successful locations in Southern Utah before becoming area developers in order to spread Sub Zero’s unique concept to more regions and assist others to pursue franchise ownership.
The liquid nitrogen ice cream store offers completely customizable creations and caters to a range of dietary needs. Sub Zero offers seven cream bases, as well as lactose free, vegan and sugar-free options. After selecting a base, guests can choose from nearly 20 different flavors and then mix in a variety of fruit, candy, nuts or baked goods, for limitless combinations. Sub Zero also offers ice cream pies, shakes and smoothies that are all created using liquid nitrogen.
There’s one surprising thing customers won’t see at Sub Zero – freezers. Rather, each customized order is quickly frozen using a unique patented process founded by Air Force veteran and CEO Jerry Hancock. Sub Zero is a science spectacle when it comes to serving made-to-order -321 degree liquid nitrogen treats. The flash freezing ensures ice crystals remain miniscule, resulting in an ultra-smooth and creamy product. The Smiths will be exhibiting and demonstrating the Sub Zero product at the Las Vegas Franchise Show in the Embassy Suites by Hilton on September 24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
