Staff Nurses Provide at Home Care Assessments for Client Convenience

Toronto, Canada - September 27, 2016 - (PR.com) - Comfort Keepers of Toronto, ON is pleased to announce that they now offer in-home Wellness Check services throughout the greater Toronto, ON area as part of their wide array of at home care options.

A Wellness Check is a non-invasive assessment that provides insight about many aspects of a client’s health and can lead to early detection of health problems, ongoing monitoring of known issues and more effective treatment over time. All results can be monitored on an ongoing basis and reported to your loved one’s family doctor, specialist or nurse practitioner.

Clients can choose to be assessed for all or some of the health indicators below.

  • General Appearance and Mental Status – posture, gait, mood, behaviours, speech, organization of thoughts, level of consciousness, motor responses, pupil reaction
  • Skin – colour, swelling, moisture level, moles/lesions, temperature, turgor, mucous membranes, teeth and gums, nails
  • Cardiovascular – blood pressure, heart rate, heart sounds, capillary refill, peripheral pulses
  • Respiratory – respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, lung sounds
  • Gastrointestinal – regularity of system, bowel sounds
  • Genitourinary – urinary health
  • Musculoskeletal – muscle tone, lumps, tremors, strength, bone abnormalities
