The Future of Dry Cleaning Comes to Oxford

Lapels Dry Cleaning opens at 3010 Old Taylor Road, Oxford, MS

October 03, 2016 // Franchising.com // OXFORD, MS and HANOVER, MA - Lapels Dry Cleaning, an innovative, environmentally friendly dry cleaning company headquartered in Hanover, Massachusetts, will open a full-service, environmentally friendly dry cleaning plant at 3010 Old Taylor Road on October 8.

“We’re extremely excited to bring a sustainable, non-toxic way of dry cleaning clothes to Oxford,” said John Edwards, the owner of Lapels Dry Cleaning of Oxford. “When we open our doors on October 8th, Lapels Dry Cleaning will become the only dry cleaner in Oxford using a 100 percent environmentally non-toxic cleaning solution.”

Opening Lapels Dry Cleaning of Oxford represents a homecoming for Edwards. The Greenville, Mississippi native and Ole Miss grad has been in the oil and gas industry for the past seven years, working and residing in Ohio, Louisiana and Pennsylvania during that time. Edwards will have company in fulfilling his dream of owning his own business. He will be joined in running the business by his fiancé, Ali.

“After I finished college, I went out on a number of job interviews. It was then I thought about owning a business of my own one day and being the one doing the interviewing,” said Edwards. “It took a little longer than anticipated, but I’m so happy to achieve this goal and combine it with two wonderful things: coming home to Oxford and getting married.”

John and Ali have a November 18th wedding planned.
