October 26, 2016 // Franchising.com // BOSTON – About one in 15 insured homes in Boston has a property damage claim each year resulting from water or fire damage to the tune of $4.4 billion in direct losses incurred within the Boston metro market. PuroClean Chairman and CEO Mark Davis, along with other PuroClean executives and PuroClean franchise owner Darrel Depot of Williston, Vermont, will host a pair of events on Nov. 8. The events will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 450 Totten Pond Rd. in Waltham, Massachusetts. The first session will take place at 10 a.m. while the second will be at 1 p.m.
Boston is one of 11 new markets PuroClean has targeted for expansion due to high demand for restoration services. Davis noted that while many people associate cleanup and restoration with large-scale natural disasters, a significant share of calls for PuroClean service stems from common household and business mishaps such as overflowing washing machines, freezing, bursting or leaking pipes, mold growth that ensues after a water loss, and kitchen fires. About 37 percent of American homeowners claim water damage through their insurance company. In fact, water damage claims are growing faster than any other component of homeowner’s insurance, according to the American Insurance Association.
