Snapology Makes STEAM Learning a ‘Snap’ in Northeast Louisville

Snapology of Northeast Louisville is coming this fall to the community and will service Jefferson and Oldham counties. This marks the first territory in Louisville, will company plans for two more within the next few years.
For Snapology of Northeast Louisville owner, Orla Pylant, the decision to open her own business was inspired by both her daughters as well as her own entrepreneurial spirit. With an extensive 15-year background in accounting, including serving as a controller for Manna Inc., a Louisville-based Wendy’s franchisee, Pylant sought to apply to her business acumen to a personal venture. With a passion for her daughters’ education in mind, Pylant realized that Snapology was the perfect fit.
“Educating children through LEGO blocks is a totally different direction I originally saw for my career, but I’m excited about it— it feels right,” says Pylant.
“I am thrilled to bring Snapology to Northeast Louisville. There is a great need for programs that integrate STEAM (science, tech, engineering, art and mathematics) concepts,” says Pylant. “I’m excited to show the children in my community, including my daughters, what Snapology has to offer.”
In addition to the introduction of robotics and science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) concepts, Snapology students learn behavioral skills, such as patience and teamwork.
Snapology offers a wide array of interactive, play-based activities for children ages 1-14 – including enrichment classes, birthday parties, workshops, camps, scouting events and field trips – mainly using building materials such as LEGO® bricks and other similar building tools and technology. The programs can be customized based on the number of children, age of children and time allotment, and can be broken down into individual classes, such as Superhero or Minecraft themed events, competition robotics teams, science classes, team building events and motor skills development courses that are perfect for pre-school children.
Additionally, the curriculum is designed to benefit gifted and traditional students, as well as children with special needs, including those with sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders.
